Criminal Justice
“One Standard. One System. No Safe Havens. Tough on Violent Crime. Smart on Justice. Equal Protection Everywhere..” ~ Kevin McClellan
One Standard. One System. No Safe Havens.
Justice should be simple. Protect the innocent. Punish the guilty. Restore lives where possible. Right now, we don’t have one justice system — we have different rules depending on who you are, where you live, and who you know. That needs to end.
1) Professional Policing Through Better Pay and Standards
Good policing starts with standards. We pay officers better so departments can be more selective, better trained, and more professional. Higher standards mean fewer bad officers, fewer abuses, and stronger trust with the public. Backing good cops and holding bad ones accountable are not opposites — they go together.
2) Rehabilitation That Works: Job Training in Jails and Prisons
Rehabilitation isn’t weakness. It’s a proven way to reduce crime. Inmates who learn real skills, earn real credentials, and leave with real job opportunities are far less likely to reoffend. That makes communities safer and lowers long-term costs. Punishment without a path forward just creates repeat offenders.
3) Tough on Violent Crime, Smarter on Victimless Crime
Violent crime deserves serious consequences. No excuses. No revolving doors. Victimless crimes should focus on treatment, accountability, and reintegration — not endless incarceration that fixes nothing. Justice should be proportional, rational, and effective.
4) Zero Tolerance for Crimes Against Children
Crimes against children are unforgivable. Sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, violent abuse, and repeat offenses must carry the harshest penalties possible. There are lines you don’t cross. When you do, you forfeit your place in society. Protecting children is non-negotiable.
5) One Standard. One System. No Safe Havens.
Criminals shouldn’t escape consequences because of state lines, politics, or zip codes. Major crimes should be treated as major crimes everywhere. No safe havens. No special treatment. No different rules for the powerful. Equal justice isn’t optional. It’s the foundation of a free country.
